Speak to Bosla: voice notes (beta)

Say what you spent, what to buy or a question, and check it before anything is saved.

Voice notes let you add spending, shopping-list items and prices by speaking, the way you would tell a friend. It is a beta: it works well, and your ratings help it get better.

How to use it

  1. 1Tap the microphone next to Type it quickly on the Add page, or in Ask Bosla.
  2. 2Allow the microphone if your phone asks.
  3. 3Speak naturally, for example: "fuel 5, lunch 3 at Shake Shack, school fees 45 yesterday, and add milk and eggs to the list".
  4. 4Stop talking. Bosla stops by itself after a short pause, or tap Done.
  5. 5On Check before saving, see what Bosla heard at the top. Untick anything you don't want, tap a name, amount or category to change it, then tap Save.

What you can say

  • Spending and income: "taxi 2", "salary came in 1200". Say "yesterday" or a day, like "on Monday", and Bosla uses that date.
  • Shopping list: "add rice and soap to the list".
  • Prices you saw: "rice is 3.2 at Lulu".
  • A question: "how much have I spent on food this month?" opens Ask Bosla with your question.
  • A page: "open my budgets".

Gulf money words work too: "500 baisa" is 0.5, "1 rial 200" is 1.2 and "5k" is 5,000. English, Arabic and Nigerian English or Pidgin are all fine.

Did Bosla get it right?

Under the list, tap 👍 or 👎. After 👎 you can tap what went wrong. We only get your rating and those choices, never what you said.

Limits

  • Free: during the beta, no monthly limit and up to 10 voice notes a day.
  • Paid plans: 300 a month.

You can always type instead.

Your voice and your privacy

Your recording is sent once to Google Gemini, through Bosla's paid account, to understand it, and is not kept by Bosla. It is not used to train AI. Nothing is saved until you check it. Children don't see the microphone.
