1. About these terms

These terms apply between you and Bosla ("Bosla", "we", "us"). Our Privacy notice explains how we handle personal data and forms part of these terms. If you use Bosla for a business or on behalf of an employer, you accept these terms for that organisation too.

2. What Bosla is, and what it is not

Bosla is a tool that helps you record, organise and plan household money. It shows estimates such as safe to spend, health scores, zakat amounts and plans, based on what you and your household enter.

  • Bosla gives guidance, not financial, investment, tax, legal or religious advice. It is not a bank, does not hold your money and does not make payments for you, except for paying for your Bosla plan.
  • Figures are only as accurate as the information entered. Check important decisions with a qualified professional or, for zakat, a scholar you trust.
  • Bosla AI can make mistakes. Always check what it reads or suggests before relying on it.
  • Exchange rates, prices and comparisons of money transfer providers are for information and may differ from what a provider charges you.

3. Your account

  • You must be at least 18 to open an account. A parent or guardian can add children to their household.
  • Give accurate information and keep your sign-in secure. You are responsible for what happens in your account.
  • Tell us straight away if you think someone else has used your account.
  • One person per account. Do not share sign-in details; invite people into your household instead.

4. Households

  • The owner of a household decides who joins it and what role each person has. People in a household can see its information according to their role.
  • The owner can remove people and delete the household. If you leave a household, its information stays with it.
  • Only invite people who agree to join, and only add information about others that you are allowed to share.

5. Plans, trials and payments

  • Free plan: free of charge, with the features and monthly allowances shown on the pricing page.
  • Trial: new households get a 14-day trial of Family without a card. At the end you move to Free unless you choose a paid plan.
  • Paid plans are billed monthly or yearly in advance, in the currency shown, through Stripe or Paystack. Prices include VAT or similar taxes where they apply.
  • Renewal: paid plans renew automatically until you cancel. You can cancel any time in Plan and usage → Manage. You keep the plan until the end of the period you paid for; we do not refund part periods unless the law requires it.
  • Launch prices and founding members: if you start a paid plan while a launch offer is on, you keep that price for as long as your subscription continues without a break. If you cancel and come back later, the price at that time applies.
  • Price changes: we may change prices for future periods. We will tell you at least 30 days before a change applies to you, and you can cancel before it does.
  • Allowances: monthly limits for receipts, statements, bank emails and Ask Bosla questions reset on the 1st of each month and do not roll over.
  • Failed payments: if a payment fails, we will try again and tell you. If it is not fixed, your household moves to Free; your data stays.
  • Workplace plan: employer subscriptions are governed by a separate agreement with the employer. Employees use Bosla under these terms.

6. Your content

  • What you enter and upload stays yours. You give us permission to store, process and display it only to provide Bosla to you and your household, as the Privacy notice describes.
  • You are responsible for having the right to upload what you upload.
  • We do not use your content to train AI, and we do not sell it.

7. Fair use

Please do not:

  • break the law, or use Bosla for fraud, money laundering or to harm others,
  • upload anything unlawful, harmful or that you have no right to share,
  • try to get into accounts, systems or data that are not yours, or test our security without our written permission,
  • copy, resell or build a competing service from Bosla, or use automated tools to scrape it,
  • overload Bosla or get around plan limits.

We may suspend or close accounts that break these rules, after telling you where we reasonably can.

8. Bosla AI and third-party services

Some features rely on other companies, such as Google for Bosla AI, Stripe and Paystack for payments and your email provider for bank alerts. Their services may change or be unavailable, and their own terms may apply. Using your own AI key is subject to your agreement with that provider.

9. Availability and changes

We work to keep Bosla running and your data safe, but we cannot promise it will always be available or free of errors. We may change, add or remove features. If a change removes something important in a paid plan, we will tell you in advance and you may cancel.

10. Ending your use

You can stop using Bosla and delete your household or account at any time in Settings. We may close an account that breaks these terms or the law, or that has been inactive on the Free plan for more than 24 months after telling you first. You can download your data before your account closes.

11. Our responsibility to you

  • Nothing in these terms limits rights you have under consumer law that cannot be limited.
  • We are responsible for losses that are a foreseeable result of us breaking these terms or not using reasonable care and skill.
  • We are not responsible for decisions you make based on Bosla's estimates, for losses caused by information you entered, for services run by others, or for events beyond our reasonable control.
  • Where the law allows, our total responsibility to you is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim, or 100 US dollars if you use the Free plan.

12. Intellectual property

Bosla, its name, logo, design and software belong to us or our licensors. We give you a personal, non-transferable right to use Bosla under these terms. If you send us ideas or feedback, we may use them without owing you anything.

13. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. If a change is important, we will tell you in the app or by email at least 30 days before it applies. If you keep using Bosla after that, the new terms apply; if you do not agree, you can stop using Bosla and delete your account.

14. Law and disputes

These terms are governed by the laws of the United Arab Emirates, as applied in the Emirate of Dubai. If you have a problem, please contact us first so we can try to solve it. If we cannot, disputes will be settled by the courts of Dubai, United Arab Emirates, unless the law of the country where you live gives you the right to bring a claim there.
